Local Food … At Langdale we support
local producers who offer a wide range of high quality ingredients.
We work hand-in-hand with local purveyors of Lake District and
Cumbrian fayre to ensure that we use only the freshest available
produce. Meat is bought from Udales of Morecambe and Lakes Speciality
Foods of Staveley. Our fine selection of British Cheeses, including
some delicious varieties from local Lakeland farms, is provided
by Barry Carr from The Cheese Larder.
You will, however, note that there is an exception in the Smoked
Salmon, which we purchase direct from The Uig Lodge on the Isle
of Lewis. This is hand-selected, 100% Scottish Atlantic Salmon,
which is then brined and smoked to a secret recipe, before being
hand-sliced and carefully packaged for delivery by same-day courier.
Purdey's Restaurant is amongst the finest of any
of the Hotels in the Lake District and welcomes non-residents
The Terrace Restaurant offers bistro style food
in a relaxed setting and the Terrace bar is adjacent to the spa.
Hobson's Bar is a cosy Kurt Schwitters influenced
design offering a wide range of beers, wines and spirits as well
as tea, coffee
and an excellent menu
Wainwrights' Inn is a traditional Lake District
pub with award winning Real Ales log fires and a hearty menu ideal
