Assistant Restaurant Manager

The Langdale Estate is set in 35 acres of woodland & waterways in the heart of the Lake District.  The Estate comprises of a 56 bedroom hotel, 100 timeshare units, 2 Restaurants & bars and traditional Lakeland pub.

We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help with the smooth running of Purdey’s, our fine dining 2 AA rosette restaurant.  Purdey’s is an 80 cover restaurant, which also includes bar area and adjacent Hobson’s Bar.  This position will assist the Restaurant Manager with the day to day running of the restaurant including working with existing team members in all areas, helping with training and deputising for the manager in their absence.  The ability to lead, guide and motivate staff to ensure high standards are maintained is essential, as is previous supervisor experience.  Flexibility is also needed as there will be occasions where you are asked to assist in the other restaurant outlets at an assistant manager level.

Spa Therapist

The Langdale Spa has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Spa Therapist to join the team.

Main duties include carrying out range of therapies for clients in an efficient and professional manner, to maximise revenue through careful diary management and proactive selling of spa retail products.  You will also ensure the spa is kept clean and well maintained.

The successful candidate should possess a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Experience in a similar establishment with Elemis, Anne Semonin, OPI nails, bareMinerals and Shellac products would be an advantage.  Good communication and excellent customer service skills are essential.

Chef de Partie

We are looking for a Chef de partie for Purdeys Restaurant, the Langdale Estate’s 2 AA rosette restaurant.  Working within an enthusiastic, committed team, you will ideally have experience at two rosette level, and have passion & drive to help create locally sourced, quality food as well as an eagerness to learn & develop your knowledge.

This role will suit a strong Demi Chef de Partie with the ability to multi task and also develop their skills or a Chef de Partie wishing to expand their skills.  Excellent organisation and communication skills are essential especially when under pressure.  The ability to supervise and guide junior members of the brigade would be an advantage.  There are two other kitchens on the Estate, so flexibility and adaptability when needed would be useful to ensure that all kitchens operate at their highest potential.

Commis Chef

We are looking a committed Commis Chef with proven experience in a busy kitchen to join the team at Langdale.  Working in one of the Estates 3 kitchens – Purdeys, Terrace or Wainwrights, there is opportunity to learn and develop your skills.  The ability to be flexible would be an advantage.  Langdale has a strong training record and is keen to help people progress in their career. 

Qualifications would be an advantage but NVQ training will be offered where appropriate. Experience at 1 or 2 rosette level also an advantage if wishing to work in the fine dining restaurant.  Most important is having passion & drive to help create locally sourced, quality food.
